The Nutrition Research Information Network (NUTRINET) recently forged partnership with Medical and Health Librarians Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MAHLAP).
The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was conducted during the Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute’s (DOST-FNRI) Grand Launch of 2020: Perfect Vision for Nutrition at the Makati Diamond Residences on February 19, 2020.
MAHLAP is a national group of medical and health librarians founded on May 1987. MAHLAP’s objectives are to encourage and promote the collection, organization and dissemination of medical health information and library service; encourage and cultivate library cooperation, local and regional; and to enhance and uphold the dignity and ethics of the medical and health librarianship.
MAHLAP is an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units or points provider by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) since 2009. With their experience and expertise in providing and conducting seminars, workshops and trainings with CPD units, the Network forged a partnership with MAHLAP.
In the past, NUTRINET offers seminars for free but without CPD points or units. With this partnership, capability activities such as seminars, workshops and trainings spearheaded by NUTRINET will have CPD points or units for librarians with the assistance of MAHLAP.
This partnership between NUTRINET and MAHLAP is a way of reaching out and capacitating more librarians.
